Crookton Road connects the present with the past. Sections of the road are aligned with Route 66. Historic Route 66 is one of three roads within Arizona to receive this special designation.

DeSoto's in Ashfork, Az. The town is located at the junction of state Highway 89 and Interstate 40 on Historic Route 66. The town's origins, as with many of the town's along Route 66, were in the railroad in 1882.
